Dr. Meara's turn

Dr. Mark Proctor just came out to give us an update. He opened up the old incision and and prepared the bone of her skull for harvest. He was able to get to where he needed too without any tear in the dura (lining of the brain) which is great and as of right now Sarah has not needed a blood transfusion. Dr. Meara is now onto his portion of the procedure where he will repair the gaps in her skull with shaved bone from other portions of the skull.

Here is a picture of Dr. John Meara, Recontructive Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Meara has done a lot of great work to help many children all over the world. Here are some links if you are interested in seeing what he has done. He is a kind and gentle man with a big heart.
